The Weekly Review – Week Seven 2023
Welcome to my new blog series, The Weekly Review. We are several weeks into 2023, so let’s just start with Week Seven.
I love perusing Instagram to find planner inspiration, but I wish there were more planner blogs. I like to know the story behind how a person is planning, what they are using, and how things are going. Am I the only one, lol?
I usually share my planner spreads at the end of the month, but too many things change within that time. In comes The Weekly Review! It is much easier for me to share my current journal supplies and adventures with you every week. So here we are, my first Weekly Review, Week Seven 2023.
In case you are unfamiliar with my current planner, it is the Common Planner by Sterling Ink in the B6 size. This is a new planner this year, and I have written several posts about it, so here they are in case you want to check them out:

The Weekly Review
Weekly View
I am still experimenting with the extra space on the left side of the weekly layout. I was tracking my weekly numbers for Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest, but I no longer feel the need to track Pinterest. Maybe I should just leave this space blank. It’s always such a dilemma for me.
And if you look closely, you can see that I changed the size of my fountain pen nib midday on the 15th! I was giving EF a try but decided to go back to F.
Daily Pages
Every page has the date, an inspiring quote, my to-do list, what I ate, and some light-hearted journaling.
I find the B6 to be the perfect size for my current planning needs. While I loved the weekly spread in the Hobonichi Cousin A5, the daily pages just had too much space for me.
When I don’t have much to write, I can just put a sticker, and the space fills in nicely.
This plant sticker is from Wonderland222.
Some of my absolute favorite stickers are from The Coffee Monsterz Co. Helen has Emoti stickers for just about every occasion.
The floral stickers are all from the Sterling Ink Subscription Kit.
Archival Black Ink
I think one of my main struggles since planning on Tomoe River paper, has been trying to find a quick-drying ink that is archival. I was ecstatic when I found SketchInk by Rohrer & Klingner, but I don’t care for their color, black, Lotte. It was a bit inconsistent in my Platinum Preppy and dried too quickly if I didn’t cap my pen right away.
After watching dozens of LyndseyScribbles videos, I finally purchased some DeAtramentis Archive Ink, and I wish I had done it sooner! This ink dries almost as fast as the Rohrer & Klingner Sketch Ink and is much more forgiving. I can leave my cap off without my pen drying out constantly, and the flow is perfect in my Fine nib.
The Platinum Preppy
This is the least expensive fountain pen that I own, and it’s my favorite! I you haven’t given one a try, you need to!
VDS Undyed Janet Leather Cover
I recently purchased this VDS Undyed Janet Leather Cover and wanted to show you how it is doing. It has only been out of the house once, but it’s managed to pick up a few new spots. I can’t wait to see how it patinas when I am outdoors more during the summer.
See you next week!
