Hello planner friends! I know it’s been a while, but I’m finally back with a Hobonichi Cousin Flip Through. I know it’s that time of year when we are searching for the perfect planner for the coming year, so I thought it might help to share some of my planner pages with you!
September Hobonichi Cousin Flip Through
I mainly keep track of big events in my monthly spread. I enter all of our photo shoots, house cleaning days, vacations, appointments, and my husband’s coaching schedule here. I mainly track his schedule so I will know when I have the place to myself to record videos and obsess about my planners.
Hobonichi Cousin Weekly Spreads
If you have been following me for any amount of time, you know that the Hobonichi weekly spreads are my favorite part of this planner! I use these pages more for memory-keeping than for planning. I refer back to them often.
I usually have trackers in the left column, but I think I was burnt out on using them, so I didn’t keep track of anything this week.
I mainly plan with just a pen, but every once in a while I like to add stickers. The Coffee Monterz Co is my favorite, and I found a shop called Square Lime Designs on Etsy where I can download stickers and print and cut them on my own.
I put a sample of each one on the left page since I wasn’t tracking during this week either.
When an event takes up at least an hour of time, I will usually write it bigger, but I’m starting to feel like this looks sloppy.
After finding inspiration from Helen’s planner (The Coffee Monsterz Co), I decided to try out a tracker like hers. I also tried writing my meals on the left, instead of at the bottom, but that only lasted this one week. It wasn’t enough room to write and the bottom of my weekly spread looked too empty.
I put my dinners back in their usual spot during this week but kept the tracker on the side. I decided my dots looked too inconsistent, so I started using check marks. Still not happy with the way it looks though.
And this is the week I finally remembered that I wanted to use stickers! LOL! Decorating my planner just doesn’t come naturally to me.
Hobonichi Cousin Daily Pages
If you have not signed up for Sterling Inks newsletter, you need to! She sends these gorgeous calendars every month, and they are free. I love sticking them on the first blank page at the beginning of every month.
I also started keeping my monthly goals tipped into this page in my planner.
The daily pages, ugh…a constant struggle for me! I never know what to do with all the extra space!
I may have figured out what works best for me now. I think I just need to not be so picky and use this planner for what it’s meant for…planning. It doesn’t always need to be pretty.
Well, I hope this helped inspire some of you! Be sure to watch my video too, see you soon!
