Sojourner Leather Cover

I used this planner for six months before finally splurging on a leather cover. I wanted to be sure it was worth the investment before committing.

Of course, I turned to one of my favorite cover makers and had a Gedi Leather cover made. The leather is buttery soft and scratches easily, quickly developing its own unique personality.

SIDE NOTE: This particular size is not listed on her website, so I made a special request. At the time of this post, it was an additional $20 to the regular Hobonichi Weeks cover.

The stitching on the Sojourner Covers is meticulous! As usual, I chose the gold-gilded edges on my Common Planner. (She also offers white edges)

Pens of Choice

While I usually prefer using fountain pens on Tomoe River Paper, I wanted something more accessible and quick-drying for this planner.

I love these Vintage-colored pens from Zebra, specifically the Sarasa Clip in 0.5 mm.

Yearly Overview

The yearly overview is perfect for tracking whether I closed all my rings each day. It helps me quickly spot when I’m slacking (I had pneumonia in February, not slacking 😆). Plus, it’s just fun to keep tabs on these stats!

Quarterly Tracking

While the previous tracker shows if I closed all my rings for the day, this view details which rings I closed and provides a few other stats.

For the first time, I’m using the left side of the quarterly section to outline my priorities for the next few months. I’ll break down my goals for each month and conduct a quick review at the end of each month.

Monthly Tracking

On the monthly spread, I write the:

  • type of workout
  • whether it was run club
  • how many miles I ran
  • pace

Weekly Tracking

This is how I originally planned on using this spread. I wanted to track:

  • wake up time
  • workout times
  • snack and meal times
This lasted only a few weeks before I realized I was constantly pulling out my planner to log things throughout the day—I just didn’t have the time for it.

This is what my weekly spreads currently look like. I’m only tracking the type of workout I do and the time of day.

Daily Tracking

The daily pages are the core of my health and fitness journal. When I’m focused on calorie intake, I track what I eat, its weight, and the calories. I also note how certain foods and activities make me feel, using a red pen to highlight these thoughts. I typically do this when starting a new meal plan; once I have a sense of the calories, I can be less detailed in recording my meals.

Here’s a glimpse of my daily pages on a typical day. I also use the red pen to track alcohol consumption. This helps me monitor and maintain discipline, mainly because I aim to limit drinking to the weekends.

My health and fitness bullet journal, in my Sterling Ink Common Planner, has been a game changer for me. It’s not just about tracking workouts and calories—using my red pen to note how food and activities make me feel keeps me in tune with my body. Whether I’m dialing in on a new meal plan or simply staying disciplined with my workouts, this journal keeps me accountable and motivated, day after day.
