DIY TIFFANY CANVAS

I was watching Belinda Selene on YouTube, and she had the cutest Prada canvas on her wall! She made it in a DIY project video, so I thought I would give it a try. My office accents are turquoise, so I decided to paint with that color, and write out Tiffany & Co. instead. Here are the products I used to make this DIY Tiffany & Co Canvas:

1. modge podge to seal in glitter
2. acrylic paint of your choice
3. glitter
4. paint brushes
5. canvas

I made all of these purchases at Michael’s, but I’m sure you can find similar items at your local craft store or on Amazon.

First, I created a file in Photoshop to the same dimensions as my canvas. This let me see exactly how large the letters would appear on the final product. I used Times New Roman as my font, but there are a few others out there that look similar to the Tiffany font.

I dragged as many letter as could fit onto another template, this time measuring 8.5 x 11. As you can see, the letters are no longer solid, I did some Photoshop magic and made only the outline appear, but you can leave it the original way. I just didn’t want to use up too much ink.

I painstakingly cut every letter out by hand, and then traced them onto the canvas after laying them out.

As you can see, this stuff is hard work! My Teek got exhausted just watching me. 🙂

After painting in all the letters with turquoise, I let the canvas completely dry. The small, square edge paint brushes really worked out well with this project. They made it so easy to get into the small corners, and create some clean details. I only did one coat of paint because the glitter would be filling in any bare spots. Once dry, I painted over a letter with modge podge, and thne sprinkled it with glitter. I did  this one letter at a time and then left the canvas for quite awhile to completely dry.

Next, I knocked all the excess glitter off, and then applied another layer of modge podge to seal the remaining glitter into the canvas. Don’t worry, the glue actually dries clear, but it will look cloudy when wet!
