I had a late start setting up my 2024 Common Planner because I was waiting on some new ink!
This will be my second year in the Sterling Ink Common Planner. It felt so good to complete my 2023 planner. It’s filled with so many memories, and I feel like it’s a little book all about me! My 2024 setup is very minimal compared to last year’s.
2024 Common Planner Setup
Vision Board and My Ideal Day
This year, I made myself a little vision board at the front of my Common Planner. If you want to create one for yourself, give Canva a try! I used to make these in Photoshop, but Canva makes it so easy with all the templates and images available.
On the right-hand side, I have my Ideal Day Time Blocking Schedule. I have never made one of these, but I have been sticking to the schedule I created. I recently moved from San Diego to Arizona and am beginning to see that I will need two very different schedules for the summer and winter months. Things like walking the dogs will have to happen before the sun rises to beat the heat. I’m going to go ahead and experience a few days of summer before I come up with a solid schedule, so it will just remain blank for now.
Quarter Goals and SAVERS
I have no idea how I want to use the Quarter Goals section this year! It remained blank in my 2023 planner, but I will share my spread if I figure out how I want to use it.
I use this section on the right to track my SAVERS.
- Silence
- Affirmations
- Visualization
- Exercise
- Reading
- Scribing
If you want to learn more about what the SAVERS are, you can check out Hal Elrod’s book The Miracle Morning.
Monthly Spread
This is filled in at the beginning of every month, and it has all of our photoshoots and appointments. I don’t usually plan too far ahead in my monthly Common Planner spread, and I do all of my future planning on my iPhone calendar because it changes often.
I created These monthly stickers a few years ago, and I decided to put them at the bottom right of my spread for 2024.
Weekly Spread
If a planner doesn’t have a vertical weekly section, I don’t want it. LOL!
This has become an integral part of my planning routine. I use it to reference what I was doing at specific times, and it’s a great way to reflect on what I do with my time.
Daily Pages
This is where the B6 size planner really works for me. I was in an A5 for quite some time, and the daily pages were always a chore. I felt the need to fill up every space, and I am not the type of planner girl to use a bunch of stickers or washi, so this was a daily challenge.
But the B6! It’s perfect for all my daily planning needs. I have a To-Do List, Food log, Workout Log, and some space for journaling. I do like to add the occasional picture or ephemera to my journal pages, so I have a separate space for that in my Traveler’s Notebook Journal.
VDS Planner Cover
I want to share the patina on my gorgeous VDS Undyed Janet leather cover with you. This cover is beautiful and grows more unique every day.
Pens and Ink
I am currently using the Pilot Kakuno in Fine with three DeAtramentis inks. I struggled to pick between the two browns but landed on Sepia Brown. That’s the color used throughout this book.
I purchased all of these inks from Goulet Pens.
I get the pens on Amazon, along with my favorite converter.
