The Ring Planner Solution for My Bound Planner System.
Are you a pen-and-paper enthusiast like me? As our business and life priorities evolve, finding the perfect planner system becomes a thrilling quest. Join me on my journey as I discover the ideal solution to keep my important information safe and organized with a Ring Planner!
Personal Ring Planner
The Beauty of Planners and Why I Needed More
As a firm believer in the power of planners, I’ve always found joy in writing things down and organizing my life and business. My trusted Bound planner, a Sterling Ink full-year Common Planner in the B6 size, accompanied by a VDS undyed Janet leather cover, has been a steadfast companion. However, as life changes, I realized I need a space where I can easily update and manage important information.
While digital tools like Notion serve some purposes, I’m a true pen-and-paper kind of gal. The beauty and therapeutic value of traditional planners are simply unparalleled. Hence, I embarked on a quest to find the perfect supplement to my beloved Bound planner.
Enter the Ring Planner
After some deep thought, I remembered I already have the perfect solution on hand, a Ring Planner! It is a VDS Standard in the Touch Me leather, equivalent to the Personal Size. I love that it isn’t much larger than the B6 Cover.
I considered using a Personal Wide planner, but I don’t like how large and square it is. After watching many YouTube videos in search of the perfect planner insert size, I discovered the Franklin Covey Compact fits into a personal planner.
Setting Up My Ring Planner
One of the joys of a Ring Planner system is the abundance of free inserts available, allowing for endless customization.
Here are a few of the awesome creators who made some of these inserts:
For my needs, I divided my Ring Planner into five main sections, each serving a specific purpose:
1. The Inbox: Capturing Life’s Essentials
In this section, I organize my to-do lists, shopping lists, and lists of things I want to read and watch. It acts as a catch-all for all the important bits of information I need to keep track of on a daily basis.
2. The Schedule: Time Management and Content Planning
The Schedule section houses yearly calendars and my weekly content planning and photography to-do lists. Keeping this information close at hand helps me manage my time efficiently and stay on top of my creative projects.
3. The Home: Managing Life’s Essentials
For managing my home life, I plan our budget here (which I haven’t printed out yet), jot down meal plans, and track various habits and goals that contribute to a balanced and harmonious home environment.
4. The Project Section: Fostering Creativity
This section is my creative haven, where I nurture my video and blog post ideas with detailed notes. I also manage photography projects and keep a manifesting section complete with affirmations and vision boards.
5. The Reference Section: Organizing Random Treasures
The last section acts as a treasure trove for all sorts of lists, notes, and guides I want to hold onto. From random lists like trigger and cleaning checklists to important notes I take during the day, everything finds its place here.
The Pen: Always With The Pens!
I haven’t found the perfect pen for this planner yet.
The Hobonichi Multi Pen does a good job but doesn’t fit in the pen loop.
The Pilot Vanishing Point Fountain Pen works well until I am in an awkward writing position.
So that’s why I have the Sharpie S-Gel Pen on its way. I’m hoping this pen will easily fit in the pen loop and provide a smooth writing experience.
With the Ring Planner by my side, I’ve found the perfect complement to my Bound Planner. The combination of these two systems empowers me to thrive in both my personal and professional life, bringing order and creativity to my daily routine.
So, if you’re like me, and the allure of pen and paper beckons you towards a beautifully organized life, consider exploring the world of Ring Planners—you might just find your perfect planning solution too! Happy planning!
