My Canon Selphy is hands down the best portable printer I have ever owned. Take a look at how I create a book journal using this mini printer.
Canon Selphy | Creating A Book Journal
Hi everyone! So, recently I was watching one of Made with Love Crafters’ videos and she was talking about reading. I read books all the time, but usually self-help books. I forgot that I used to read just for fun. Reading books is actually more fun than watching a movie for me! So, I ran out and grabbed a book that I have been wanting to read, but haven’t allowed myself the time. Now that I think about it, I haven’t watched TV since I picked up this book ๐ I even remembered that I was keeping a book tracker using the Canon Selphy at one point to document my favorite books.
After digging through my retired journals and pulled out the book tracker insert to put back in my Traveler’s Notebook. I ‘m excited to start again, filling in all my new reads! If you would like to see how I created these tiny book covers, be sure to watch the video at the end of this post!
This little pocket is perfect for storing my little book covers until I’m ready to paste them in.
LET’S TAKE A PEEK INSIDE
Some of these books are quite old. I used to be obsessed with romance novels, and Jude Deveraux wrote my favorite stories. A Knight in Shining Armor will always be my favorite!
Can you tell I was obsessed with running books for a while there? I think I’m going to make sure I date these entries from now on. I wish I could remember when this phase of my life was.
Lots of self-help books…believe me, there are more. These are just a few of my favorites from the past.
Physical books or digital?
Some of these books are downloaded for free on my Nook. If I didn’t know what I was in the mood to read, doing this took me out of my usual genre, and mixed things up a bit.
I tried to get into the Fifty Shades series, but I just couldn’t. It seemed like the same thing over and over again. I don’t think I ever finished the second book. Now let’s talk about the Alchemyst! This is hands down my favorite book series EVER!!!!. I started reading this with my son and we used to get so excited when the next book would come out.
The Percy Jackson series is another favorite.
Who hasn’t read the Twilight series? It’s such an easy read and the books are so much better than the movies! These Child of Atlantis books were written by a friend of mine. You have got to check them out, especially if you read books like The Alchemyst or Percy Jackson.
My final entry is The Series of Unfortunate Events. I read this to my kids as they were growing up, and then they read through the series on their own once they were able to. Reading with your kids is so important. It has allowed me to have some interesting conversations with my children, and broadened their vocabulary exponentially ๐ My husband was never a reader, but after hearing the conversations my children and I have about books (he said it sounds like we are talking about a movie, or someone we actually know), he decided to get in on the action. We have made it a habit for me to read to him during car rides. I actually love our long car trips now!
