Why I love keeping track of the books I’m reading on Goodreads!
Goodreads has quickly become my favorite book-tracking method. Usually, I am an analog person. Pen and paper are my go-tos 90% of the time. I love writing things down and flipping back through the pages from time to time, but I struggle to keep a paper Book Journal.
I tried starting a physical Book Journal several times until I finally decided to really give this platform a try. Here are a few of my favorite things about Goodreads.
I Read 24 Books In 2022: Goodreads
1. Goodreads is Free
I purchased several notebooks that I started and never finished completing as a Book Journal. Goodreads is FREE! They even have a free app for your phone, and it’s available for Android and IOS. I do have to admit that the website needs some upgrading, but thankfully they have been slowly improving the site.
2. It’s quick and convenient
I can pull out my phone and access the App from just about anywhere. When I finish a book in bed, I can make notes, write a review, rank the book or just update the page I am on. It is so much more convenient than carrying around another physical journal.
3. It’s a convenient database of books
Goodreads is a book lovers dream! You can keep track of the books you’ve read, the books you are reading, and the books you want to read. With 90 million members, you can follow friends and authors to see what they’re reading too!
Discovering new books and purchasing them is also made simple. Most of the books have a link to Amazon or other stores where they can be purchased.
5. Goodreads Reading Challenge
THIS is my favorite feature! While I didn’t achieve my goal in 2022, I am much more focused and excited about my 2023 Reading Challenge.
There are so many fun statistics that Goodreads tracks as you log the books you have read.
This gets me so excited and revved up for my 2023 Reading Challenge!
Do you have a Goodreads account? Or do you prefer to keep a paper Book Journal?
Join me on this year’s challenge! I would love to be your friend!
