My 2023 Planner Setup: Sterling Ink Common Planner
I finally gathered the courage to create my 2023 Planner Setup!
It took me 3 weeks to get started on my 2023 Planner Setup in my Common Planner by Sterling Ink. I have not been this nervous about beginning a planner since my first Hobonichi Cousin. This planner is so beautiful, and I was afraid of messing it up.
You can find my Common Planner unboxing HERE if you haven’t checked it out.
2023 Planner Setup
Cover Page
I don’t usually dress up my planner, but I wanted to try it this year.
I included my “word of the year” on the left, with a picture I created on Canva.
Gumption: spirited initiative and resourcefulness.
I also tipped in some Vellum paper that I had sitting around from a previous Sterling Ink Subscription Kit.
Taiwan Bear Rubber Wood Stamps Set
I LOVE this Bear Stamp Set that I purchased on Etsy years ago! I didn’t do a very good job stamping this American Black Bear, but he is still adorable.
Gratitude and Money Affirmations
I covered the yearly calendar page with my gratitude and money affirmations. I didn’t mind covering it because I use my phone when I need to see a yearly overview.
Current Me vs. Future Me
I got this idea from Lavendaire, and it is brilliant! I had a lot of fun thinking about my dream life and trying to draw these pictures, lol.
I used my iPad and then printed them out on Tomoe River Paper. I wish I could leave a link, but the paper I purchased is no longer available. Hopefully, they will start selling loose-leaf paper from the new version of Tomoe River Paper.
My Yearly Goals
I appreciate the template that Catherine included for yearly goal planning. I wanted to include a section like this in my 2023 Planner Setup, and it made breaking down my goals easier.
Quarter Goals
The Quarter Goals section makes it easy for me to track my goals monthly. Goal tracking in this manner is new to me, so I have high hopes that it will keep me on track!
The tracker on the right is very similar to the Hobonichi Cousin tracker. I like to use this section to track my SAVERS.
- Silence
- Affirmations
- Visualization
- Exercise
- Reading
- Scribing
If you want to learn more about that, you can check out Hal Elrod’s book The Miracle Morning.
Monthly Spread
This planner has a December start, so I copied over the information from my Wonderland Planner because I couldn’t wait to get started.
This is still where I do my preplanning for appointments and events.
Weekly Spread
I’m still tracking my time spent throughout the day, as I did in my Hobonichi Cousin and Wonderland222.
I am trying to decide if I want to use the space on the left as a tracker, so I penciled in a few ideas.
Daily Pages
I am so happy these daily pages aren’t pre-dated. I don’t always write out lists on the weekends, or when I’m traveling, so I won’t feel like I am wasting pages.
I do need to figure out how I want to format each page, but this is a start.
Planner Trackers
My 2023 Planner Setup has plenty of trackers!
I purchased these printable inserts from Peanuts Planner Co and printed them on Tomoe River Paper, and then glued them in.
I made this book challenge tracker in Canva. You can find the free template HERE. It was a 100-Day Challenge, but I altered it to fit my planner and the number of books I want to read this year.
Clear Planner Cover
Lastly, I would like to give a few thoughts on the clear cover that Catherine created for the Common Planner.
I feel like it was a bit on the pricey side ($12 + shipping), especially since I have purchased similar covers for a smaller cost. This one is also very thin and floppy. I was hoping it would give more support to the already delicate cover of this planner.
I was also told that the planner with the clear cover would not fit in a VDS Leather Cover, and unfortunately, I have one being made as I write this. I will update you when it arrives sometime later this month!
Planner Tabs
These minimal little planner tabs are Midori Chiratto Index Clips, and they come in silver and gold. Just a warning, you do need to be careful when clipping these onto such delicate paper as Tomoe River Paper. They stay in place and get the job done, though!
